Director of Marketing

The Director of Marketing position is primarily responsible for setting the Company's commercialization goals, strategies, and executing on related tactics including marketing of EnteroMedics products and services. Key ongoing initiatives include direct to patient marketing programs, referral physician marketing programs, and surgeon and hospital partnership programs.

Essential Functions

  • Drive patient lead acquisition campaigns that will help meet yearly sales and reimbursement objectives for new business. Specifically, support qualified lead generation programs using multichannel digital marketing strategies including web site, lead gen partners, digital and other media (e.g., print, radio).
  • Research benchmarks, apply best practices and drive the integration of multiple data sources and quality tools and services to support patient lead generation activities. Monitor, adjust and maintains activities as needed.
  • Develop the Company's website with content development to ensure effective branding and marketing to all stakeholders.
  • Build and lead the Marketing team and members to support business needs.
  • Design key segmentation strategies to target existing and potential new customers, including patients, physicians, and referring physicians.
  • Develop and maintain strong systems reporting and campaign capabilities and partners with marketing leadership to report on the effectiveness of acquisition programs based on established metrics and KPIs; provide/update recurring reports and analyze trends.
  • Actively monitors industry news, updates, reports as well as competitive products and marketing activities. Shares insight and feedback to Marketing Leadership/Teammembers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts, and provides feedback for future product development.

Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing; Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of hands on marketing experience in Medical Device Industry (Implantable/non-invasive device preferred).
  • Experience in developing, utilizing and executing online marketing plans and programs as well as overseeing all advertising and promotional activities (print, TV, Web, etc.).
  • Strong business acumen on a strategic level. This includes knowledge about businesses strategy, business trends and the implications to the business, strong competitive knowledge, and how strategies and tactics impact the marketplace.
  • Experience hiring, managing and leading marketing teams and promoting a high-performance, dynamic, growth culture.
  • Experience creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations to large groups, Sr. Executives, etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across all functions and levels.
